On the 11th January 2021 the guidance given by Public Health England via DEFRA & CFSG on how dog groomers should operate changed and states:
Groomers may accept a dog to be groomed by appointment where this is necessary for the animal’s welfare and not simply for aesthetic reasons. Welfare reasons could include on veterinary advice for a skin condition or excessive matting causing the pet discomfort. When routine grooming can be delayed without affecting the pet’s welfare until the national lockdown is eased it should be put off.
Taking this into account we now need to judge whether or not an appointment falls into this guidance before accepting it. As a business, we put a strong emphasis on the 5 Animal Welfare needs as laid out in the Animal Welfare Act 2006 one of these being to be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease. and this what we use to decide whether or not we will be able to offer an appointment while in this current lockdown.
To discuss your appointment please call us on 01827 311608 or 07500 441393 weekdays 9am - 5pm and weekends 10am - 4pm.
We hope you understand the change to operating practice.
All the best & Take care
